Lying is contagious, and it appears the White House is suffering an outbreak.

Look at Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who's in charge of spinning the president's bald-faced falsehoods to the American people. On Wednesday, a stone-faced Sanders said a reporter's question was "ridiculous" when she asked if Trump ever lied to the American people.

The only problem? The president clearly lied.

Fox & Friends shared a clip of an upcoming interview with Trump on Wednesday. In the video, Trumps claims he did know about payments his lawyer Michael Cohen made to silence his affairs, but only after Cohen made them.

Here's the problem: The president previously said he knew nothing about the payments. And we have audio of Trump telling Cohen to use cash to pay off Playboy Model Karen McDougal.

How did Sanders resolve this ridiculously confusing back and forth? By calling the reporter's accusation ridiculous.

"Can you say that the president has never lied to the American people?" Cecilia Vega of ABC News asked. "Because so many people look back at that tape of him on Air Force One saying he knew nothing about these payments, when in fact he knew everything about these payments. So has he lied?"

"Look, again, I think that's a ridiculous accusation," Sanders said. "The president, in this matter, has done nothing wrong and there are no charges against him."

It almost makes you miss Kellyanne Conway, who, while being a liar herself, at least gets creative. Remember the Bowling Green Massacre? Alternative facts?
