Dr. Sara Tancredi is officially coming back to Prison Break.

Sarah Wayne Callies, known most recently for her roles on The Walking Dead and Colony, will reprise her role on Fox's upcoming Prison Break limited series, which is set to premiere during the 2016-2017 season.

Callies joins a lineup that already includes stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who are returning to their roles as brothers Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.

As previously reported, the new series picks up some time after Michael's death, with Sara having moved on with her life, living a quiet life with her new husband (set to be played by Royal Pains' Mark Feuerstein) and her and Michael's child.

But soon, signs emerge to suggest that Michael is not as dead as originally thought. Sara and Lincoln then team up for what Fox says will be, "the series’ biggest escape ever."

Callies will be billed as a series regular.

That Michael really can't stay out of trouble, can he?

More casting announcements are set to come, Fox has said.

While this will be a reunion for the trio, Miller and Purcell are currently appearing side-by-side on The CW's Legends of Tomorrow

Prison Break ended its run back in 2009 but over the years continued its life on Netflix, where it was among one of the most-watched drama series internationally. Fox officially gave the project a second life back in January.
