LONDON -- Save the Children have launched the sequel to a campaign video, which uses one-second-a-day snapshots to tell the story of a girl forced to flee London when fictional Britain is torn apart by war.

As she embarks on a perilous journey to search for a new life after the capital is ravaged by terrorism and conflict, the girl, played by 13-year-old Lily Rose Aslandogdu, is forced to leave everything behind amid the constant threats of bombs.

Just like thousands of children fleeing conflict, she has to cross the sea on a rickety and overcrowded boat in her bid to reach a safe haven.

More than 325,000 children have now crossed the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. An estimated 340 children have drowned since September -- an average of two children a day --Save the Children says.

The original video gathered over 50 million views.

"This video captures the terrible experiences of thousands of children every day, many undertaking horrific journeys that no one should ever have to endure,"says Carolyn Miles, president and CEO of Save the Children.

"We wanted to bring home the reality of what it's like for those children, to capture the public's attention."
