Scarlett Johansson is chiming in on the gender pay gap in Hollywood, but says the conversation needs to broaden in scope before she wants to be a part of it.

The successful actress, who was reportedly paid $17.5 million for her role in the upcoming Ghost in the Shell, said in a wide-ranging interview with Cosmopolitan that talking about pay inequality feels "icky" given her enviable standing in the entertainment industry.

"Unless I'm addressing it as a larger problem, for me to talk about my own personal experience with it feels a little obnoxious," she said. "It's part of a larger conversation about feminism in general."

The star didn't hold back about other issues affecting women. When it came to Planned Parenthood, Johansson threw her full support behind the healthcare centers and called slashing their budget "crazy."

"You read about the rise of back-alley abortions, women having to mutilate themselves and teenagers having to seek help in unsafe conditions, and for what?" she told Cosmo. "We're moving backward when we're supposed to be moving forward."

The notoriously private actress also gave some advice to women who feel they've hit "rock bottom" in a romantic relationship.

"...Rock bottom is the moment when you're like, 'I've lost myself. Why am I standing outside this bar at 1:30 in the morning texting while my friends are inside? Or taking a taxi to see him at some ungodly hour? This isn't me,'" she said. "That is the moment you've gotta cut it off. Otherwise, it will keep coming back, suck your blood."

ScarJo's full interview with Cosmopolitan hits news stands on April 12.
