Some people dream of living in Paris for a year or even just a few months abroad. How does a year in space sound?

When NASA astronaut Scott Kelly touches down on Earth on Tuesday, he will have spent 340 days aboard the International Space Station, just shy of a full year orbiting our planet, and the longest any American has ever been in space continuously.

During his time up there he's conducted multiple spacewalks, taken selfies lit by the glow of the Earth, and eaten some rather gross looking space tacos. His Instagram and Twitter feed have been must-follows, as they gave us a stunningly beautiful perspective of our world on a daily basis.
