Sean Penn is writing about #MeToo and we can only process this through angry gifs
Sean Penn's debut novel, out in April, is apparently going to be a loaded allegory. Among other things, it will contain references to prominent social movements and a questionable president, as well as the #MeToo movement.
For some background, Penn was charged with physically abusing then-wife Madonna in the 1980s, a charge she withdrew and eventually denied altogether. We don't need another #MeToo take from a man on the outside, much less one with this spot on his record, rescinded or not.
So we're turning to angry gifs.
First of all, who let this happen? Who didn't consider the optics?
Like srsly who did this what don't u get
Do I need to take over publishers' meetings?
Here's an evergreen gif I made for just such occasions:
And another:
Here's Daredevil cathartically punching Iron Fist the way I punched the wall next to my desk!
Here's a review from comedian Hannibal Buress:
Lord, shield me from the #takes of men who can't speak to this topic.
Killmonger hates this idea.
And it's going to be a pass for Nathaniel from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
It's going to be a fight from Arya Stark!
This one isn't angry but here's Timothée Chalamet with a great PSA:
This is actual footage of me right now!
Anyway, if you happen to read the book...
Or, you know, don't.
