This dad's letter to a teacher defending his son deserves a massive A+

"Life's hard enough"

There was nothing sweeter at school than the surprise of having your parents take your side over the side of your teacher.

But if they actually confronted them it was even better.

On Tuesday, comedian Seann Walsh shared an old letter he said his father wrote to his teacher after he got in trouble back in his school days.

That final line is the real killer: "Isn't this just a little bit petty? Life's hard enough."

Walsh's letter has so far been retweeted over 5000 times. People certainly seem to empathise with it.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the second "n" came later.

Splendid work.
