Preity Zinta, Alec Baldwin and Connie Britton join the 2016 Social Good Summit lineup

The countdown to the 2016 Social Good Summit has begun, and as anticipation grows, so too does our list of speakers.

Among the latest additions to this year’s confirmed panelists are actors and humanitarians Preity Zinta, Alec Baldwin and Connie Britton.

As an international film star and businesswoman, Preity Zinta has used her fame to bring attention to social injustices. Throughout her career, she has partnered with the United Nations on numerous occasions to combat issues ranging from human trafficking to HIV/AIDS. Zinta currently serves on the United Nations Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurs Council, which works toward solving global problems through innovative entrepreneurship.

During his 30+ years in the entertainment industry, Emmy and Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Alec Baldwin has taken an active role in the arts and in social and environmental issues. More recently, working closely with the Equator Initiative of the United Nations Development Programme, Baldwin has become a strong advocate for the protection of forests and indigenous peoples' rights to combat climate change.

Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actress Connie Britton has devoted substantial time to a wide range of global charity work. In 2014, Britton joined the United Nations Development Programme as a Goodwill Ambassador to advocate on behalf of women’s empowerment and poverty eradication. Her most recent work with UNDP includes raising awareness of the key role gender equality plays in the global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Tickets are still available for this year’s summit, which will take place on Sept. 18-19 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.
