Impressive looking 'Seinfeld' video game is pure fantasy, for now

It's a game about nothing.

The quest for a Seinfeld-themed game won't ever see an end.

There is that Doom 2 mod, but if you're looking for something a little kinder -- check out these cool mockups by indie developer Jacob Janerka from Perth, Australia.

Jerry, George, Kramer, Elaine, Jerry's apartment, and Tom's Restaurant: They're here for you to look at and further feed your desire for game version of the long-running sitcom.

It's a side project of Janerka's, who helped to create the point-and-click game Paradigm. In his Seinfeld mockups, he used Photoshop to create the art, then a game engine called Visionaire during the mockup stages for controlling the characters.

Despite the number of hurdles it would take to get such a game out to market, Janerka said he'd like to at least give it a shot.

"While maybe it would be extremely hard to greenlight something like this, I still would like to make a real pitch for it," he told Mashable Australia via email.

"After I'm done with my main game, I would like to spend a few months developing a prototype and make a real attempt at making it real. These days you can see other IP's [intellectual property] being really successful when applied to games. Telltale Games is probably the best example of this."

Anyway, let's just keep hoping for a game about nothing, shall we?
