Selena Gomez dethrones Taylor Swift as the most followed Instagram user

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are just like you and your BFF -- watching bad movies, baking cookies, being each other's Grammy date and dethroning each other as the most followed Instagram user.

Gomez just took the number one spot on the social platform and currently has 69.4 million followers.

Taylor Swift currently has 69.2 million Instagram followers, while Kim Kardashian is at 63.7 million.

But there doesn't seem to be any bad blood here. Kim, for one, has not been discouraged.

One thing that sets Gomez apart on Instagram is her fan engagement -- she frequently comments on fans' posts and replies to their comments.

She is also excellent at the strategic fave, and users following Gomez can track her Instagram activity, so if she's throwing shade at Justin Bieber, you'll know.
