The 'this is fine' meme was already dead, but a GOP senator just bought it a new tombstone

Rest in peace, again.

Prominent Republicans are always waltzing around, killing memes just by using them. We cannot, however, induct GOP senator Richard Burr into the murderers' club, because the meme he used was already dead.

During a hearing on Wednesday, the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman referred to the popular "this is fine" meme while discussing the Russian attack on the 2016 election.

"Some feel that we as a society are sitting in a burning room, calmly drinking a cup of coffee, telling ourselves ‘this is fine,'” Burr said. “That’s not fine. And that’s not the case."

Looks like someone's logged on before!

Sadly, the "this is fine" meme has not been funny for several months now, which is roughly 37 years on the Trump's America calendar. Sorry, but it's true -- chalk the melting dog's demise up to overly-smarmy Twitter personalities posting variations on it every thirty seconds.

Now, thanks to Senator Burr, the meme's death has become more final than ever. Head to your local K.C. Green fan page and leave it some flowers. The internet giveth, and the GOP taketh away.

Everything is indeed not fine.
