LOS ANGELES -- Actress Shailene Woodley spent primary day advocating for Bernie Sanders on The Young Turks broadcast.

The progressive online news program, which has amassed 2.4 million subscribers since it started live streaming on YouTube in 2005, brought Woodley on to talk about why she feels the Bern.

The program itself -- which has twice had Sanders on as a guest -- is openly pro-Sanders, as well.

Woodley, 24, said she was not politically active until Sanders came to her attention in February.

"What he [Bernie Sanders] stands for resonated for me," she told host Cenk Uygur. "He really wants to improve the human condition, especially for those who have been marginalized for so many years. And his integrity, his truth, his honesty... he's been on the right side of history. Everything that he stands for, I support."

The actress is among the many Hollywood A-listers -- including Mark Ruffalo, Sarah Silverman and Josh Hutcherson -- who have rallied behind Sanders.

Many major news organizations -- including The Associated Press -- reported Wednesday that Sanders' opponent Hillary Clinton had won California and secured the nomination.

However, Sanders vowed to stay in the race.
