Shark dive cage manufacturers really need to step up their game.

Photographer Peter Maguire was on a shark dive inside a submersible cage off Guadalupe Island, Mexico in September when he captured an intense moment between a few divers and curious shark.

According to Maguire, who was filming from a different cage, a female shark known as Milana Arnone swims up to the tank's air supply and bites the hose.

The dive master, named Yann, swims to the top of the cage in order to switch to an alternative air supply when the shark enters the dive cage, getting itself stuck in the process.

"The cage is raised and the divers have to exit next to the shark," Maguire wrote on YouTube. "The captain and crew decide to tie a rope around the sharks tail and lower the cage, essentially holding the shark in place and popping the shark out! "

The shark was able to swim away after the crew managed to dislodge it from the cage, and all of the divers escaped unharmed. Maguire credits the well-trained crew for avoiding any injury.

"If it wasn't for the training and quick thinking of the crew, this could have ended a lot differently," Maguire wrote.

Another angle shot by diver Katie Yonker shows the incident from inside the cage.

While the incident was terrifying, Maguire and the other divers say it was also sad to see the animal in such distress.

"I can only hope that we can learn from this video and improve on great white shark diving best practices and improve on cage construction," said Maguire.

The video comes just days after another shark managed to get itself suck in a shark cage with a diver, who made it out without any injuries.
