It doesn't get much closer than this.

Team USA's Allyson Felix came so very, very close to winning the fifth Olympic gold medal of her career on Monday night.

In the final stretch of the 400-meter final, she looked like she might beat Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas. At the very last moment, though, Miller dove forward, leaving the announcers flummoxed as to who had won the race.

After a few tense seconds, the results were revealed: Miller's dramatic dive gave her a time of 49.44 seconds, beating out Felix's time of 49.51 seconds.

Felix shouldn't feel too bad, though. She still won silver, putting her career medal count at seven, breaking the U.S. women's record of six held by Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

So Felix becomes the most decorated woman in U.S. track and field history and Miller gets to be part of one of the most dramatic victories at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
