Shia LaBeouf has apologized after footage leaked showing the actor making racist comments towards police in a Georgia police station.

LaBeouf was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of public drunkenness, obstruction, and disorderly conduct after an incident at Georgia's City Market in Savannah. But new footage released on Wednesday from inside the police station shows a much darker story.

In footage obtained by TMZ, LaBeouf goes on a racist rant inside the police station, telling a black police officer he's "going to hell" because of the color of his skin. Later, LaBeouf accused the cops of being racist.

Another clip released by TMZ on Wednesday shows LaBeouf making racially charged comments toward a white police officer about his wife.

Shortly after the clips were released, LaBeouf released an apology on Twitter.

"I am deeply ashamed of my behavior and make no excuse for it," the note reads. In the statement, LaBeouf also admits that he has been struggling publicly with addiction and is actively taking steps towards sobriety.

TMZ reports that before the clips went online, LaBeouf had returned to the set of The Peanut Butter Falcon in Savannah on Monday.
