Simone Biles is a wonder woman.

There is something to be said about a gymnast who can wink at the judges in the middle of a difficult routine. Nineteen-year-old Biles has a total of 14 world championship medals, making her the most decorated American female gymnast of all time. And her 10 gold medals gives her the record for most Worlds golds won by a female gymnast.

The talented gymnast is the first woman to win three consecutive all-around titles at the world championships. Biles is the first African-American gymnast to win an all-around World title. She is also the third American woman ever to be the all-around national champion four consecutive times.

Not only does Biles bring her lighthearted, bubbly personality to the floor, she even invented her own move. The “Biles” consists of two back flips followed by a half twist in a laid out, or straight, body position. Preformed on the floor exercise, this skill requires a high level of “air awareness,” as Biles flips and twist through the air she has to know exactly where the ground is because she won't see it until she lands.

As we cheer on the 4’9” American powerhouse in her first Olympics, let’s take a moment to appreciate her accomplishments and badass skills.
