As she recovers from brain surgery, Simone Giertz is chronicling her experience with trademark honesty and humor.

The "shitty robots" YouTuber has been tweeting steadily since her procedure in May, even posting a photo of her "super villain scar" a few days after surgery. On Thursday, she posted perhaps her realest update yet.

"Trying my best to make recovering from a brain tumor sound interesting but it's not," she wrote. "It's like trying to cook a meal out of a pile of sawdust.

"But my head shape is almost back to normal so there's that," she added.

Honestly, though, her tweets have been extremely good -- and, we'd imagine, genuinely comforting for anyone recovering from or preparing to undergo a similar experience.

Last week, she even ventured out to meet with noted Serena Williams husband (and founder of Reddit, we guess) Alexis Ohanian.

And fans seem to appreciate even the most mundane updates. "Even posting tiny achievements tells a good (and your very real) story," one fan replied. "I’ve had 2 T1-T12 back surgeries. Washing my own hair, flipping a light switch... big deals to me. We’d love to hear yours!"
