Gladiator groomsmen show up, six packs and all, to collect the bride

SINGAPORE -- Now that's a sight to behold.

This picture of Zachary Lee and his band of groomsmen is making its rounds online. On May 28, Lee showed up on the morning of his wedding day at his bride's house, accompanied by eight groomsmen dressed as Spartan gladiators from the movie 300.

While it may not be surprising that the 25-year-old Lee is in such good shape given that he's a personal trainer, the rest of his merry band is made up of marketing executives and undergraduates, with one other personal trainer and navy officer amongst the group, he told The Straits Times. 

He added that the group works out regularly together and that he chose the Spartan theme because it was "fun and memorable."

Since the meme of the group's picture was posted on Facebook group SGAG on June 6, Lee's story has gone viral with more than 1,500 shares and 3,500 likes.

Unsurprisingly, many of the comments on the post centred around Lee's and his groomsmen's physiques.

One Facebook user, Shandi Tng, commented: "I also wanna wash my clothes using those abs haha."

Lee and his groomsmen were taking part in a common Chinese wedding tradition known as gatecrashing.

A wedding gatecrashing party takes place on the morning of the couple's big day, where the groom is required to pick up his bride from her parental home with an entourage. 

The groom's "brothers" will usually dress according to a theme to prove their solidarity, and typically endure a series of humiliating games that the bride's entourage has installed for them.
