Woman's nasty tweet about an engagement ring sparks a debate about whether size really matters

Small ring, big love.

Does size matter? It's an age-old question, and now we finally have a meme that has answered it.

A few weeks back, Twitter user @Daymjina posted a photo of an engagement ring with the caption, "Imagine finally being proposed to & this is the ring you're given," complete with some crying emojis. The diamond in question is petite, but lovely nonetheless.

Her tweet hit a nerve, frustrating many people who felt she was being superficial and disrespectful. This prompted others to share their thoughts, along with photos of their own small rings to prove once and for all that size does not matter.

The woman whose original tweet caused this backlash told Yahoo that she posted the photo with the intent of trolling people. But there's a positive side to this whole ordeal: we now see how many people care more about their love for their significant others than flashy jewelry.
