8-year-old skating prodigy can shred with the best of them
Sky Brown is the real deal.
The eight-year-old skater from Miyazaki, Japan, along with her five-year-old brother Ocean, is taking YouTube and Instagram by storm with some truly jaw-dropping skating prowess.
Most recently, she became the youngest girl to skate in the Vans US Open Pro Series, competing against people more than twice her size.

But her young age and the fact that skating is a male-dominated sport are no big deal to Brown. "It doesn’t matter that I’m a girl or that I’m small," she told the #ShePlaysWeWin campaign. "My heart is big and strong and I can be as good as or even better than the boys or even big people."
Oh, and she can also surf. No big deal.
Sky and her brother are known as the "AWSMKIDS," and they're always looking for new adventures, whether it's a fresh ramp or a TV spot.
And it's only a matter of time until they're a world-renowned surfing combo, too.
