Special edition of 'Smash Ultimate' comes with a GameCube controller
Some say the best way to play Smash is with a GameCube controller. Well, purists will be in luck when Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes out.
Nintendo of Europe announced that the special edition version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will come with a Nintendo Switch-compatible GameCube controller. No word yet on pricing, but it will be launching on Dec. 7, the same day as the game comes out.

The news came right after the most recent Nintendo Direct video about Smash Ultimate, in which Nintendo revealed new characters, stages, items, and more coming to the fifth Super Smash Bros. game.
The Nintendo Switch first added support for GameCube controllers back in October so players with the Wii U's GameCube controller adaptor could use their preferred method on Switch. It wasn't until Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was revealed that Nintendo shared it would be offering GameCube controllers once again.
The Smash Ultimate version of the GameCube controller is $30 by itself, and it costs and extra $20 to get the adapter that allows for up to four GameCube controllers to be used with the Switch at once.
We don't know how much this limited edition of Smash Ultimate will be, but if it's less than $110, it's a deal.
