Sometimes women don't want to smile, and no one should tell them to do so.

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton dominated the Democratic primaries on March 17, yet one television host focused on something other than her leading number of delegates, her policies or her tenacity.

Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough, an outspoken Republican, tweeted that Hillary Clinton should "smile" after her successful Super Tuesday.

Members of society regularly tell women to put smiles on their faces, from cat-callers to interviewers to large companies like Apple

Now, women are fighting back thanks to Samantha Bee.

The Full Frontal host took to Twitter to respond to Scarborough's comment with a photo.

The tweet has since started a movement of women posting similar pictures of themselves refusing to smile for Scarborough with the hashtag #SmileForJoe.

While some of the responders label themselves as Hillary supporters, others are just out to support gender equality.

After receiving backlash for his comment, Scarborough tweeted a few statements defending what he said.

However, it doesn't look like the hashtag is letting up.

More and more women are posting their unsmiling faces in the name of feminism.

Some even include public figures like Saturday Night Live's Aidy Bryant and writer Ashley Black.

While Hillary may not have smiled enough to the news host's liking, she's probably too busy working to win an election to care.
