Snapchat's 'World Lenses' let you augment your surroundings with rainbow-vomiting clouds
Snapchat is going for much more than just the selfie.
In an update to its iOS and Android apps released Tuesday (that quietly included a connection to its video-camera glasses Spectacles) Snapchat has added several new lenses that augment your surroundings.
By using the rear-facing camera and tapping anywhere on the screen, Snapchat users can access a selection of new real-time filters called World Lenses. Click on one of the seven options and the camera features are automatically applied to your environment.

The update was timed with Election Day, perhaps in the hope of entertaining those waiting in line at the polling booths and providing more fun to Live Stories. The app will show voters heading to the polls as well as election night acceptance and concession speeches and celebrations.
