"Black Jeopardy" has become one of the most indelible sketches in Saturday Night Live's 40-plus-year tenure, and the cast and writers behind it want a shot with the man himself: Barack Obama.

"I think Obama would be a lot of fun on Black Jeopardy," Kenan Thompson told Vulture in an oral history of the sketch. "I feel like he could do it. If we reached out and had a good enough idea for him, he’ll come do it."

"Black Jeopardy" started in 2015 and has only been in five episodes of SNL, which seems shockingly low considering how amusing and salient the sketch is. Thompson, Michael Che, and Bryan Tucker discussed the origins and evolution of this sketch and all the ideas that might still make it on the air.

"I wanted to do an athlete because I thought a black athlete’s world was a lot different than a regular person’s world. Probably a character like Charles Barkley," Tucker said. "A millionaire who’s been treated well since he was revered in high school. And there was another one I wanted to do with Chance the Rapper that was similar to the Wakanda one. Chance was more idealistic than the other contestants; he was opening a school in Chicago, and giving millions of dollars to charity, and making everyone feel a little bad."
