Sonos has so far been a company that does one thing, and does one thing well - and that one thing was speakers. Sure, Sonos also sells audio components, accessories, and it has an audio product aimed at businesses, called Sonos Pro; but its core business have always been speakers.

This might change in a big way next year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Sonos is planning to launch several entirely new products in 2024, including its first pair of headphones.

Gurman claims Sonos has been working on headphones as early as 2019, but the company scrapped earlier versions. And the company CEO Patrick Spence recently said that Sonos is about to enter an entirely new category. "While current market conditions remain challenging, this is the beginning of a multi-year product cycle where we expect to reap the rewards of our R&D investments. This cycle begins with our entry into a new multi-billion dollar category in the second half of the year that will complement our current offering, delight customers and drive immediate revenue," he said in a statement.

Like other Sonos products, the headphones won't be cheap; the rumored price is "upwards of $400," according to Gurman, with the release date being "as early as April." The report doesn't have too many details about the headphones' specs, except that they're likely to include Sonos' Voice Control assistant, as well as sync with other Sonos products.

Sonos is also reportedly working on a pair of earbuds, which might come after the headphones, as well as a TV set-top box, that will either launch in 2024 or 2025. The TV streaming device is likely to cost between $150 and $200, and it will reportedly have the ability to run apps similar to those on Netflix.

Of course, Sonos will continue launching speakers in 2024 as well. New products we can expect is a new version of its portable speaker, Roam, as well as a new Sub soundwoofer, and a new sound bar product.

Right now, however, Sonos is running a Black Friday event which includes the first-ever discount on the Sonos Era 100, as well as discounts on several other products.
