9 relaxing live streams to soothe your Election Day anxiety

The best way to counter election nerves? A cascading waterfall or two.

Several noble organizations, including a few national parks and the Weather Channel, are live streaming calming footage today to help you escape one of the most stressful days in recent memory.

So grab a cup of tea, kick back with your fresh new "I Voted" sticker and let the puppies and pandas take you away.

And, of course, watch Mashable's own puppy and kitten live stream as the votes roll in Tuesday night.

1. California Academy of Sciences Live Penguin Cam

Watch penguins swim around, chat and hang out in nests -- an idyllic, election-free lifestyle.

2. The San Francisco Zoo's Red Panda Cam

At 1 p.m. EST, the Firefox Facebook page will begin streaming cute 'lil red pandas live from the San Francisco Zoo. One of the pandas is named Hillary, btw.

Every 15 minutes, the National Park Service updates this feed with a new stunning image of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. See, guys? We may be freaking out, but nature is going on as usual.

4. Niagara Falls -- the Canadian side

5. Explore.org's African Animal Lookout

Come for the chance to spot giraffes, elephants and hippos, stay for the endlessly soothing chirps of birds and crickets.

6. Monterey Bay Aquarium's Bay Cam

Crashing waves, whistling wind, a marine sanctuary -- it's all gonna be okay.

7. Monterey Bay Aquarium's Jellyfish Cam

There's something about the ebb and flow of a jellyfish's body that makes you forget it can inflict serious harm, and also that there is an election happening.

8. The Warrior Canine Connection's Nursery Cam

Warrior Canine Connection is a training program for therapy dogs, including those assigned to veterans living with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. Watch its youngest pups snooze, play and train on a delightful puppy cam.

9. The Weather Channel's Election Day "chill marathon"

Instead of covering the election, the Weather Channel is promising a "nine-hour chill marathon" of delightful nature footage set to smooth jazz. The chillfest starts at 3 p.m. EST and will be available to stream online.
