There's a competition in South Korea that rewards doing absolutely nothing
Wow, did we just stumble upon something that we could possibly effortlessly excel at?
Vice reports an interesting annual competition held in Seoul, South Korea, that involves participants sitting down and doing absolutely nothing.
The "Space Out" competition, created by South Korean visual artist WoopsYang in 2014, held its third edition in May at the city's Ichon Hangang Park.

According to WoopsYang, the competition was intended to encourage mobile-addicted, stressed out South Koreans to slow down.
"I was suffering from burnout syndrome at the time, but would feel extremely anxious if I was sitting around doing nothing, not being productive in one way or another," the artist told Vice.
"I thought to myself: 'We would all feel better about doing nothing if we did nothing together as a group.'"
This year's event saw a turnout of close to 70 people, who had to adhere to rules that disallowed phones, talking, checking your watches and dozing off. A panel of judges ensured that people who broke these rules were disqualified.
And to ensure that you're in a complete "state of chill", people's heart rates were checked at 15-minute intervals. The winner of the competition is the person with the most stable heart rate.
The winner this year was a Shin Hyo-Seob, a South Korean rapper who also calls himself Crush. He was determined as the most spaced out, having the steadiest heart rate of the candidates left.
