The past season of South Park was a high point for the long-running series, and now withdrawal-suffering fans know when their favorite foul-mouthed animated characters are returning to Comedy Central.

The network announced Thursday that South Park will return for its twentieth season on Sept. 14, 2016.

Comedy Central recently said it will renew the show, which is one of the Viacom-owned network's flagship properties, for three additional seasons, which means it will run through at least 2019.

"South Park remains the bedrock of Comedy Central and we are thrilled that new episodes will continue to entertain audiences for years to come,” network President Michele Ganeless said in a statement. “The series remains as urgent and relevant now as the day it premiered and at nearly 20 seasons in it continues to draw generations of new fans.”
