As the world falls into lawlessness, you must join The Coon to save humanity from itself.

During Ubisoft's E3 conference Monday, Senior Producer Jason Schroeder from Ubisoft's San Francisco studios welcomed South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone up to the stage to discuss their new game, South Park: The Fractured but Whole. They announced that it will have a Dec. 6 release date and talked a great deal about the changed from their 2014 game South Park: Stick of Truth.

While the first game brought took the boys from the small Colorado town into a made-up fantasy land, the sequel will transport them into a world full of superheroes. Of course, it all still happens in the same setting, but the abilities, the combat, the objectives are all changed.

"It picks up where The Stick of Truth left off," Stone said. "You're the new kid who just moved to South Park...The Stick of Truth was about a fantasy send up and you end up being the king in the end. It's like the next day in South Park, the kids have sort of switched up and now they're playing superheroes."

More than being a parody of superheroes in general, The Fractured but Whole is strongly riffing on the Marvel series of movies ('Fractured but Whole,' while also being a not-so-stealthy play on words, is also a shot at the recently released Captain America: Civil War).

"We had the backstory that the kids have been playing superheroes, but they got into a big fight about something, so now they're in the Civil War part..." Parker said. "In fact, Marvel wanted to call their movie 'Captain America: The Fractured but Whole,' but we had already taken that name, so they had to call theirs 'Civil War.'"

"Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town and create the best superhero franchise ever, his own Coon & Friends with himself as the leader, The Coon," according to a press release from Ubisoft. "Continuing in their role as the New Kid, players will become a member of Coon & Friends and fight for fame and their place beside the other kids."

Thought Stick of Truth had it's own fleshed-out world and mechanics, The Fractured but Whole seems to have scrapped it all in favor of trying new ways of fighting and new ways to explore South Park. Even the Facebook knockoff from the first game has been reworked into an in-game social network called 'Coonstagram.'

"The combat is much improved from The Stick of Truth," Stone said. "And it's a superhero game so the combat is central."

But, of course, your farts will still play a big role in how you fight.

Along with the release date, Schroeder also announced that anyone who preorders The Fractured but Whole, will receive The Stick of Truth for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam for free
