Last week, after previously missing the mark four times, SpaceX successfully landed the booster stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

And it was glorious.

Now, the company has released a series of photos taken from a remote camera on board the drone ship -- named "Of Course I Still Love You" -- that show the moment the rocket gracefully touched down.

Before bringing the rocket back safely to earth, SpaceX used it to send an unmanned Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station, loaded with thousands of pounds of supplies for the six crew members.

But what really amazed was the seamless landing, seen in the images below.

SpaceX wants to eventually be able to mass produce reusable rockets to cut down on the cost of launching to space, which could revolutionize the space industry.

For now, most rockets burn up in the atmosphere after delivering space crafts into orbit, but SpaceX is working towards recycling them.
