Spotify called Justin Bieber a 'Latin king' for some unfathomable reason, but they're sorry
Here's a story where Justin Bieber isn't the one who screwed up. Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this.
In the latest in a string of controversies surrounding Biebs' feature on the smash hit remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," Spotify ran a very ill-advised ad that referred to Bieber as a "Latin king." Uh, what do you mean?

Seeing as how the majority of the Spanish Bieber has committed to memory is typically found on a menu, it was a bad call.
After being called out, Spotify deleted the ad and responded to let people know they let you down.
“We made a creative decision to feature Justin Bieber in our ad because we wanted to celebrate ‘Despacito’ as key cultural moment when music genres crossover," a Spotify spokesperson said in a statement to New York Daily News. "We realized that this could be seen as culturally insensitive so we have pulled those ads.”
Well, at least they said sorry. But, as we often ask Biebs, what made you think that was okay in the first place?
