21 signs it's spring in New York

It's spring! The birds are chirping, the leaves are blooming and flowers are quietly emerging from the ground. 

Unless, of course, you live in America's brightest shining dump-hole -- New York City.

After five violent months of subzero temperatures, urine-drenched snow and frozen rat rot, New Yorkers count down to la primavera every year. For two warmish weeks a year, the city's denizens get to leave their houses, get on a dirty train, walk down a crowded block and go sit indoors at a windowless office for 12 hours at a time. 

Ah, spring.
