St. Vincent releases eerie cover of the 'Golden Girls' theme song
In this crazy world, it's nice to know there's one thing that will always be there for you: your best friend, the infinite void.
So, naturally, the quirky songstress St. Vincent turned the cheery Golden Girls theme song into a haunting dirge devoid of lyrics, vocals and hope.
Her version is perfect background music for when you need to sob out, "Thank you for being a friend" into the eternal nothingness and know you won't hear so much as an echo in response.
Perhaps the mournful tune is a tribute to her Fourth of July weekend at Taylor Swift's Rhode Island home with the squad. It's sort of like the Miami abode of Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia, only for models who don't share the girls' penchant for late night cheesecake therapy sessions.
