Paramount has gone after the makers of the Star Trek fan film Prelude to Axanar with its legal phasers set to stun.

Paramount and CBS first sued the Axanar team in December 2015 for infringement of intellectual property, claiming that the unfilmed fan prequel used "innumerable copyrighted elements of Star Trek, including its settings, characters, species, and themes."

In February, producer Alec Peters and his team struck back, asking that the studios clarify exactly which of the "thousands" of Star Trek elements were being infringed upon and how. They argued that it was impossible to determine the exact extent of the overlap, given the incredibly expansive Star Trek television and film universe.

But Paramount wasn't afraid to boldly go where no lawsuit has gone before.

The studio responded on Sunday with a full 28 pages of detailed grievances to support the copyright infringement claim -- including the appearance of starships, costuming and even the language of Klingon.

The Axanar team has yet to respond to Paramount's revised claim. The film script has been finalized with a $1 million funded Kickstarter.
