'Star Wars: Battlefront' to add 'Rogue One' heroes and locations
Star Wars: Battlefront may be skipping the Force Awakens time frame, but Rogue One is fair game and coming this holiday season.
Rogue One, the original trilogy prequel that chronicles the theft of the first Death Star plans, will be the focus of the first-person shooter's final add-on. It'll presumably surface close to the movie's Dec. 16 release.
The Rogue One add-on lets Imperial and Rebel forces wage war on the beach-and-sunshine-and-raining AT-AT death world of Scarif. Players will also be able to take control of two new "Heroes" -- in-game power-ups that let you temporarily step out of the grunt role -- from the movie: Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn).

Publisher Electronic Arts confirmed the news in an appearance at Star Wars Celebration Europe, a fan event that ran from July 15-17. Additional details came later in an update on the game's website.
Before the Rogue One pack arrives, Battlefront fans will get to visit the Death Star in a fall add-on that introduces ground and space combat in and around the Imperial battle station. The Death Star pack also adds two new Heroes: Chewbacca and the bounty hunter Bossk.
Here's a first look.
While EA has yet to announce any details beyond a vague 2017 release window, there's a sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront in the works. It's been heavily implied that the next game will venture to the timeline that director J.J. Abrams established in The Force Awakens.
