Disney announces Star Wars 'Rogue One' live-action series
Disney has announced a new live-action Star Wars series about the adventures of Rogue One's Cassian Andor, with Diego Luna reprising his role.
Described as a "rousing spy thriller," the series will follow Andor's daring work against the Empire before his fortuitous meeting with Jyn Erso and the mission that led to A New Hope.
“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” Luna said in the official Disney release. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”
The series will premiere on Disney+, the company's new streaming service, and is expected to begin production in 2019.
