Now we know when we'll see 'Star Wars Episode IX'
You may have been enjoying watching Star Wars movies during the holiday season, but that's about to come to an end.
Disney and Lucasfilm announced the release date of the still-untitled Star Wars Episode IX on Tuesday, and it's May 24, 2019.
That's almost exactly a year after the release of the Han Solo standalone movie, also currently untitled.
Episode VIII, aka The Last Jedi, is coming out this December -- as did Rogue One and The Force Awakens.
But May is more traditional when it comes to Star Wars; the original movie arrived on May 25, 1977, and all subsequent Star Wars films followed suit with early summer releases.
Of course, this could all change -- after all, The Force Awakens was initially slated for a summer release too.
Director Colin Trevorrow says he has completed the script for Episode IX, which will likely start shooting in 2018. An early reading is rumored to happen soon.
