Well, we can stop calling it "Star Wars Land" now. Disney has finally announced the official name for the Star Wars-themed zone that's coming to Disneyland and Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge."

Yeah, I'm probably still gonna refer to it as "Star Wars Land."

In addition, Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks & Resorts, served up a host of new details about what parkgoers can expect from Star Wars Land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Not that we needed convincing – but hey, we're not about to complain.

First and foremost is the fact that although work is currently underway in both Anaheim and Orlando, the former will open first in 2019. The Disney's Hollywood Studios location will open later that same year.

"Those of you who have been lucky enough to go to Pandora: World of Avatar know it creates a whole new level for what's possible in a completely immersive environment," boasted Chapek at D23. "Well, our plans for the Star Wars-themed lands are gonna raise that bar even higher."

Chapek listed BB-8, Chewbacca, Hondo, and Kylo Ren as some of the characters that parkgoers might encounter on their Galaxy's Edge adventure.

Also coming back will be Rex, the beloved droid character from Star Tours. He'll have a new job this time around, though – he'll be working as a DJ at the cantina. "Maybe he'll be a better DJ than he was a star speeder pilot," quipped Imagineer Scott Trowbridge.
