These are the terrariums you're looking for.

While you're thinking about bringing some green (or brown or white) into your home decor, it doesn't hurt to bring some personality too.

A classic terrarium adds beauty to your office or living room -- especially if you get a little inspiration from a few planets located in a galaxy far, far away.

Based on three planets from the Star Wars galaxy -- Endor, Hoth and Jakku -- you can easily make a quick and adorable bit of decoration for any room.

1. Planet Endor

  • A glass jar or bowl

  • Potting soil

  • Assorted river rocks, small and large

  • Moss

  • Assorted plants

  • A Star Wars figurine (we used Han Solo)

Pour a layer of small river rocks to the bottom of your glass bowl. You should have about a one-inch layer for good drainage when you need to water your plants (since this will be a "living" terrarium that you'll need to do upkeep on).

Step Two:

Pour your potting soil on top. You should have at least two inches of soil on top of your river rocks to hold your plants.

Optional: you can also add a layer of spaghnum moss between the soil and the river rolls to prevent the soil from "settling" between the cracks.

Add your plants. For Endor, we chose leafy fern-like plants that stood high above the brim of the bowl to look like trees, as well as low succulents to stand in for bushes.

Dig small holes in your soil to place your plants and gently cover with soil until the top is flush.

Add decorative moss to the top to act as Endor's forest floor. You can as much or as little as you wish.

Add larger decorative river rocks and your Star Wars figurine, and your terrarium is complete.

2. Planet Hoth

  • A glass jar or bowl

  • Assorted river rocks, small and large

  • **White sand (for snow)

  • A Star Wars figurine (we used a Funko Hoth planet Han Solo)

** You can also use Epsom salt or kosher salt as a stand in for snow.

Pour a one-inch layer of river rocks, for height. You can use the any size you prefer.

Pour your "snow" over your rocks. Stop pouring after you achieve about a two inch layer.

It's important to remember: Hoth isn't just snowy, it's also a little rocky. Using your larger rocks, make a flat step for a little differentiation in height and texture in your "snow."

Pour some more "snow" over the rocks, letting the edges peek through just a little. Concentrate your snow more on one side to make a small cliff.

Place your figurine wherever you wish and you're done!

3. Planet Jakku

  • A glass jar or bowl

  • Assorted river rocks (any size)

  • Reddish "desert" sand

  • Star Wars figurines (we used Rey and BB-8 from The Force Awakens)

Pour your sand into the bowl. You can concentrate more sand on one side of the bowl, achieving Jakku's rolling, sandy hills. You should have a 3-4 inch layer of sand, depending on the size of your bowl.

Place your figurines where ever you wish. Our Rey needed a little more stability, so we needed to stick her feet further into the sand to keep her upright -- but she still looks pretty heroic.
