We've come to know December as Star Wars season, and with 11 months until the next installment, it now has a title: Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

DIsney and Lucasfilm released the announcement through the Star Wars Twitter account on Monday:

That's a lot to process. The last Jedi?? That should mean Luke Skywalker, especially with his appearance at the end of The Force Awakens, but we all know the Force is strong with Rey. It's also telling that the tweet refers to the "Skywalker saga," meaning the core stories about Luke (and Anakin, if you must). That leaves the door open for Star Wars universe standalone features, like Rogue One or the upcoming Han Solo movie.

Star Wars title cards usually have the saga's title in yellow, but The Last Jedi is already breaking the mold with Sith-red text. Will darkness overcome the Jedi, as it did when the Republic took over? Is time a flat circle?? Twitter has it's theories, as usual, and they are enough to keep us thinking all year...

The Last Jedi releases in theaters Dec. 15.
