An interesting update to the NBA Finals series came on Sunday, this time spiced with a dose of sartorial humor.

League MVP Steph Curry was roasted on social media last week for the distinctly uncool design of his new Under Armour sneakers called the Curry Two Low.

But when asked about the shoes after game four of the Finals on Friday, Curry took the online jabs in stride and told reporters that if he'd had the sneakers with him in Cleveland he would have worn them to show everyone "how fire they are."

Well, true to his word, during his next media opportunity on Sunday, Curry wore the shoes that have come to be known as "Dad sneakers" during an interview with former NBA player Dennis Scott.

And to show that he's a good sport, he even emblazoned the shoes with his own personal touch: the word "straight" next to a graphic of a fire emoji (translation, straight fire).

Wait, is Curry that influential? Can the "baby-faced assassin" actually make Normcore cool?

As the two-time NBA MVP and a huge fan favorite among kids around the country, anything is possible. But we'll only really believe the "straight fire" claim if he wears them during the pivotal game five on Monday.
