Stephen King isn't the biggest Donald Trump fan in the world.

In fact that's an understatement. Even the most cursory of glances at the author's Twitter feed makes his views on the current U.S. president abundantly clear (he's previously referred him as both a "bad-tempered asshole" and a "rabid coyote with bad hair," among many other colourful descriptions).

This time, it started with Trump's bizarre Twitter rant about Obama tapping his phone.

In response, Stephen King did what he does best -- he made up a quick story.

It began as a comedy.

Then moved on to a kind of spy thriller.

Finally, though, King returned to his home genre.

His tweet has currently been shared well over 50,000 times. The story seemed to go down well.

Soon, people were adding to it.

Finally, there was this inspired suggestion.

Sounds like a cross between The Shining and The Dead Zone -- and really, who wouldn't read that?
