The complete chaos that is this year has just hit a new low thanks to White House chief strategist and alt-right extremist Steve Bannon.

Amid reports that Sean Spicer will be leaving his role as press secretary, Bannon reportedly explained the administration's increasing tendency toward secrecy in the worst way possible. He fat-shamed Spicer.

When asked why Spicer's appearances at press briefings have been scarce and why the briefings are being held off-camera, "White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in a text message, according to Atlantic reporter Rosie Gray, "Sean got fatter."

In just three words, Bannon's out-of-left-field comment shamed Spicer and played into offensive and pervasive body stigmas that already inundate our culture. Bannon's reasoning immediately drew reactions from a slew of appalled people, including Chelsea Clinton.

To those who claimed Bannon was simply joking about his Spicer comments, Clinton was quick to remind everyone that fat-shaming is never a laughing matter.

Please, 2017. Just be better. We can't take it anymore.
