Russian President Vladimir Putin has handed action film star Steven Seagal the ultimate pre-election present: Russian citizenship.

A notice posted on the official Kremlin website early Thursday announced that the president signed an executive order granting the 64-year-old citizenship of the country.

Seagal, an outspoken Republican known for his martial arts moves in films such as Under Siege, was born in Michigan, but seems like he wishes it was Moscow.

Over the years Seagal has shared his support of and admiration for the Russian leader. According to a Moscow Times article from 2014 he said in an interview that Putin was "one of the great living world leaders" and that he considers Putin a "brother."

Seagal's newest passport made for plenty of jokes incorporating his movie titles.

Earlier this year, Seagal became a Serbian citizen.

Then, in August, he spent time in Belarus (where he isn't a citizen...yet) and had a bizarre interaction with Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko and a carrot. Later the two communed with a watermelon.

By late Thursday morning Seagal's Facebook page didn't have any mention about his new citizenship, but he did share a video about protecting the Second Amendment and not voting for Hillary Clinton in the American presidential election.

Good to see he still cares about American politics despite his growing passport collection.
