No, you're not in some strange mirror-verse where Stranger Things is actually about fantasy cosplay. Mashable can exclusively reveal that Kyle Lambert, the artist behind the Netflix series' super-cool throwback poster, created this new one for Force Grey: The Lost Episode.

Try to guess what his inspiration was.

Force Grey: Giants Hunters is a Nerdist web series in which voice actor Matthew Mercer (he's McCree in Overwatch, people) presides over a running Dungeons & Dragons game. He's joined by a group of celebrity players who help to maintain a lively atmosphere.

Giant Hunters concluded in August, but Mercer will get the adventuring party back together on Dec. 5 for a live performance at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles (get tickets here). He'll be joined by returning players Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Program), Utkarsh Ambudkar (The Mindy Project) and Shelby Fero (Robot Chicken), along with newbie Emily V. Gordon (The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail) and a guest or two.

Like the Stranger Things piece, Lambert's Lost Episode poster owes its existence to the painted movie poster art of the '80s. His work most directly riffs on the style of legendary artist Drew Struzan, who has worked on everything from Star Wars and Indiana Jones to Harry Potter.

Also like the Stranger Things piece, he leaned on the wonders of modern technology to create it. The initial idea was sketched out using an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, with color added later in PhotoShop using a Wacom tablet.

"I approached this poster initially by sketching layout ideas that explored the actors' personalities and visually communicated their characters' storylines. This was interesting because I only had limited visual references to work from, so I had a lot of creative freedom," Lambert said in prepared remarks.

"In addition to the Dungeons & Dragons narrative, I tried to tie in elements of the Egyptian Theatre into the design. I did this by framing the characters with pillars and decorative elements from the theater's interior."

Those that can't attend the show in person don't have to miss out. Force Grey: The Lost Episode will be streamed live on the Wizards of the Coast Twitch channel, starting at 5 p.m. PT on Dec. 5.
