This 'Stranger Things' corn maze is an absolute masterpiece
As if the Upside Down wasn't a terrifying maze in itself, someone has created one in our world.
A colossal maze inspired by Netflix favorite Stranger Things has been unveiled in Lafayette, Indiana, and it's the stuff dreams are made of.
Created by Exploration Acres, home to the largest annually planted corn maze in northwest Indiana, the maze sprawls across 20 acres, reported first by Indianapolis NBC affiliate WTHR. If you'll remember, Stranger Things is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, so this is perfect.
Just look at this masterpiece:
In the center of the corn maze, you can spot our telekinetic heroine Eleven throwing down damage, while the formidable Mind Flayer hovers above. You'll also notice that terrible Demogorgon in the bottom left, chasing the crew along the foot of the maze.
We don't think the Exploration Acres team has installed any alien spore-shooting flowers in here. Just be sure to take a 3 Musketeers bar or two in case you run into any demodogs.
Here's a look at the plan for the maze, which the team did an incredible job to bring to life, shading and all.
Amazingly (sorry) enough, it doesn't look like Exploration Acres were commissioned by Netflix to create the maze, rather the team just wanted to celebrate one hell of a binge-watching session.
“After binge-watching the entire Stranger Things series last year, I knew we had a unique opportunity to create an immersive environment for fans at our farm," Tim Fitzgerald, president and CEO of Exploration Acres, told WTHR.
Mashable has reached out to Netflix for comment.
Fitzgerald and his team, according to the news service, used GPS equipment to plant the field so specifically. “This year, new technology allowed us to plant the maze design like an inkjet printer, dropping seeds into the precise design we imagined," he said.
Exploration Acres' creates its huge corn maze every year, picking a different theme each time. This one is their largest ever, over 20 acres with more than 10 miles of paths, according to the property's Facebook page. The Stranger Things maze is open from Sept. 14 through to Oct. 28.
