Student gets kicked out of gym for 'inappropriate' tank top

Her tank top exposed her shoulder blades -- clearly, the gateway bone to temptation.

Most exercise wear is, to be frank, kind of disgusting: a miserable mashup of high school t-shirts, shorts we found in the laundry room and sandy athletic socks.

So when Danielle, a student at Washington and Lee University, recently tried to go to her college gym, she threw on a trendy tank top. The student didn't think anything of it, until she was approached by a student employee and told her "shirt was too low in the back." Danielle was then asked to leave.

It's unclear what part of this tank top is revealing -- unless this photo was taken in say, 1877. Sure, Danielle has exposed shoulders and shoulder blades. And her ponytail does suggestively reach down to her ... back.

"I'm disappointed. I have witnessed nip slips in that very fitness center when meatheads have trimmed a few too many inches from the sides of their homemade tank tops," Danielle told Total Sorority Move. "But I get kicked out for revealing a triangle in the middle of my back? And on Women's Equal Pay Day?"

Here's Washington and Lee's guide to fitness attire, per their website:

It's a pretty conservative dress code, although the university's standards aren't as high as some

"We want to assure the W&L community that the policy applies equally to men and women," Jan Hathorn, the school's Director of Athletics wrote on their website.

Female high school and university students have long complained of a double standard for women in the gym. Danielle also noted that she was approached by a fellow female student, who she believes was sent by the male fitness center director.

"The male fitness center director sent a student, who was barely able to keep up with me," Danielle told Total Sorority Move.

Backless tank tops: clearly the gateway shirt for sin, sloth and temptation.

Beware.
