Did an Instagram photo spoil a major 'Suicide Squad 2' plot point?
The Suicide Squad sequel may have just spoiled one of its only cliffhangers. The 2015 film ended with a self-sacrifice from Diablo (Jay Hernandez), but it looks like he's back on set and training for Suicide Squad 2.
Joel Kinnaman, who will reprise his role as Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad 2, shared a photo from the gym where he is ostensibly working out to prepare for the sequel with costar Jai Courtney – and Hernandez.
Hernandez himself has been ambiguous about returning – as all good superhero franchise actors are – but said in 2016 that there were "possibilities."
Additionally, the photo might not even be from Suicide Squad 2 pre-production, even if it does contain all three actors. Maybe Kinnaman and Courtney are getting in shape together, and they missed their old buddy! Maybe the three of them have worked out together for the past two years and only just posted a pic. Maybe Suicide Squad 2 will be good – the possibilities are endless!
It seems unnecessary to resurrect a character in a film most people famously hated, as opposed to say, killing and resurrecting Loki in literally every Thor film ever. Then again, we'd rather see Diablo blowing shit up than ever hear from Enchantress again.
