Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles was a thrilling game (minus the ending) that kept fans on the edge of their seats. While the final score of 38-35 in favor of the Chiefs was enough to get fans talking, another aspect of the game also had people buzzing: the Gatorade shower.

Every year, the winning team's coach gets doused with Gatorade as a celebration of their victory. Ever since betting on the color of the Gatorade shower was made legal four years ago, the tradition has become the topic of speculation for NFL and sports fans alike. Last year, the winning color was blue at +400 odds with BetMGM Sportsbook, but it’s also worth noting that sometimes there is no Gatorade shower, like in 2017. This year, the odds on favorite was yellow/green at +110 odds, according to BetMGM.

When the final whistle blew some fans were concerned as some have said the iconic shower wasn't seen on TV, but thanks to some eagle-eyed fans, the official Super Bowl LVII Gatorade shower color was revealed.

What's the color?

Despite the camera crew messing up, this year's winner was purple at +1600 odds. The announcement of the winner and the frantic search by fans on social media to find it was a treat to see for those who have no investment (emotionally or financially) in what color the Gatorade is.

In the end, the real winners of this year's Gatorade shower bet were probably the bookmakers who were able to avoid paying out on the +1600 odds on purple. But for fans, the excitement and anticipation surrounding the shower remains a fun and lighthearted aspect of the Super Bowl experience.
