BEST. DAY. EVER!

It's definitely true that not all heroes wear capes -- the heroes we really remember are the ones who make everyday life so much better.

A supermarket cashier in Scotland has become the subject of adoration on Facebook for making a shopping trip with a baby the best thing ever.

Lauren Walker was shopping at the Uddingston branch of Marks and Spencer near Glasgow, when wee Alistair Findlay became restless -- as babies do.

Walker was on the verge of just giving up the shopping trip altogether when cashier Mubarak Ahmad saved the day.

"This man took the time with him to talk away so we could manage to get some shopping done. When we reached the checkout, my son was thrilled to see his new friend by screaming 'hiya hiya' to him!" Walker wrote on the company's Facebook page.

She shared a video of Mubarak holding the baby whilst scanning the groceries, with little Alistair looking utterly enthralled with the scanner.

Alistair loved it so much he didn't want to leave.

“Thanks to Mubarak, he really made my shopping experience much more enjoyable. It really just seemed second nature to him to help in this way and, to be honest, Alistair wasn’t impressed when it was time to leave and he was handed back to me," Walker told the Daily Record.

The company thanked her for letting them know and promised he would get his due praise.

Plenty of others chimed in. Apparently this isn't Mubarak's first time at the good deed rodeo.

The good word got back to Mubarak.

“I’m very touched that people have taken the time to make some lovely comments on the video. Chatting to customers and helping make a difference where I can is the bit of my job I enjoy the most,” he told the Daily Record.

What a legend.
